The Visby Program - Swedish Institute's Baltic Sea Region Exchange Program - is an important tool in the collaboration on education and research between Sweden and Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. The Visby Program supports cooperation within education and research. A mutual exchange generates positive effects for all the parties and countries involved and provides access to new, international networks. A new call for applications has now been published. Deadline for applications is March 1, 2011, with the exception of short term support, which may be applied for throughout the year. The program supports projects within education and research, various support for short term visits as well as scholarships for individual applicants. Applications for funding for project cooperation can be submitted for projects running for 1 or 2 years. Projects should involve 2-8 active parties, with at least one of these from Sweden. Projects can involve several institutions of higher education from the same country or different countries. The principal applicant should be a Swedish institution of higher education, and at least one other institution of higher education in another of the Visby program countries must be a project partner.
